36TH INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL MEETING IN PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES
(IAMPS36)

Author Guidance

Manuscript preparation
In this annual meeting, you will have a chance to communicate your research work via poster presentation. Additionally, if you applied for the Nagai Award 2020 and your work was successfully selected, you would be able to do your 10-minute oral presentation.  As all eligible manuscripts will be published in the supplement issue of Thai Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (TJPS) that has been included in Scopus, please strictly follow the guidance below.
The research topics, like previous meetings, for the poster presentation cover 4 areas:

          1. Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Natural Products
          2. Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
          3. Pharmaceutical Technology and Cosmetic Sciences
          4. Clinical and Social/Administrative Pharmacy

If you are not sure if your work fits into which area, please contact our organizing members for further clarification.
          •
You may submit an abstract or abstract plus full paper. In the case of an abstract plus full paper as a conference proceeding article, it will be published in a supplementary issue of The Journal of Thai Pharmaceutical Sciences. However, this issue will not be indexed in a Scopus database. The requirements include:
          Language:   English only
Length:        Abstract – one-page A4 paper only (see Abstract template)
Abstract plus full paper – one-page A4 abstract plus four-page A4 full paper. Manuscripts with more than the five pages (i.e., 1 + 4 A4) will not be considered! (see Abstract plus full-paper template)
Font:            Arial with various font sizes are indicated in the two templates.
File:              Please save the file in Microsoft Words 2003 or above using the formats below.
          1. For an abstract, put is AB-surname (of the corresponding author).doc or docx. For example:
Dr Bunchu Rittipattana is the corresponding author, so his abstract filename should be saved as AB-Rittipattana.doc
          2. In case of an abstract with a full paper (FP), save it as FP-surname (of the corresponding author).doc or docx. For example:
If Dr Somsri Saksith was the corresponding author, her abstract with a full-paper would be saved as FP-Saksith.doc
Submission: Upload the file on this webpage by January 31, 2020. If you have any difficulties with the submission, please contact Asst. Prof. Dusadee Charnvanich, Ph.D.
 (dusadee.v@chula.ac.th)
          • As a corresponding author, you may like to present your own study or request somebody (or so-called ‘presenting author’) to do so. You are able to submit only two papers at the maximum, i.e. either being a corresponding or presenting author. This will therefore allow researchers as many as possible to disseminate their work.
          • You will be informed of the results by January 27, 2020.

Abstract
          • Submitted abstracts should be original and not previously published elsewhere, as they can be searched via Scopus.  All quantitative or qualitative studies are welcome
          • Your abstract should be structured as shown in the Abstract template and Abstract example. It must fit on one page of A4 paper with max. 350 words.  Please use this template for your preparation.
          • An abstract must be typed in Arial font, i.e. 12-point Arial with bold typeface for the study title, 10-point Arial with regular typeface for the paper body, and 9-point for the authors’ addresses/affiliations. Please use single-spaced lines to save the page space

Abstract plus full-paper structure
          • Submitted manuscripts should be original and not previously published elsewhere, as the research work can serve as evidence for several purposes, such as staff evaluations or student’s graduation, and can be searched via Scopus. All quantitative or qualitative studies are welcome.
          • Your abstract with a full paper should be structured as shown in the Abstract plus full-paper template.  It must fit on five pages of A4 paper (i.e., one-page abstract plus four pages of the full paper).  Please use this template for your manuscript preparation.
          • A manuscript must be typed in Arial font, i.e. 12-point Arial with bold typeface for the study title, 10-point Arial with regular typeface for the paper body, and 9-point for the authors’ addresses/affiliations. Please use single spacing for the manuscript and look at the Abstract structure above for the abstract format. Regarding the full paper, it should embrace:
Title – Same as the abstract
Authors’ details – Same as the abstract but without details of the corresponding author
Keywords – Same as the abstract
Introduction – Provide brief information about relevant problems, the interesting gaps/niches, and rationale for the study. Specify the objectives of the study clearly.
Methods – May write this section in a structured format with various subheading or in a conventional one with 1 – 3 paragraphs including, for instance, study design, materials, date and method of data collection, population and sample(s), study instrument, data analysis and ethical approval (if necessary).
Results – As with the Methods, this section can be presented as structured or conventional findings. It may be combined with discussion to form a section “Results and Discussion”; this depends on the discipline. Present actual results of research. Forthcoming results, results in preparation, or simple descriptions of processes being implemented are discouraged and will not be considered by the panel. One or more tables or figures can be included as appropriate. However, the title or legend of a table should be placed above the table, whereas that of a figure is beneath the figure.
Discussion – Compare or contrast the findings with other studies. In case of a new piece of research without previous evidence, just simply discuss the results.
Conclusion – Draw a conclusion from the findings against the research questions or objectives.  Recommendations for future studies or practice may be included as appropriate.
References – Use the Vancouver style of referencing – NLM style as summarized in the book “Citing medicine: the NLM style guide for authors, editors, and publishers [Internet]. 2nd ed. Patrias K, Wendling D, editors. Bethesda (MD): National Library of Medicine; 2007-2012”. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK7256/)
To check the abbreviated journal names, please go to: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nlmcatalog/journals
Authors may cite up to 20 references as needed. In the text, put a superscript number at the beginning, middle or the end of the sentence. Place the number after a full stop if citing the whole sentence. References to books, journal articles, and other sources should be listed at the end of the paper in numbered order based on the NLM style. See an example of NLM referencing in the Abstract plus full-page template.
Other recommendations: The genus and species names of plants or animals must be italicized and their family name should be given. Additionally, measurable units should be written in the conventional format with the SI units in the brackets.
